Evaluation planASCA (2012) posits that Professional School Counselors must continually ask themselves "how are students different as a result of the school counseling program?"
To properly answer this question, school counselors must fill out evaluations of themselves and their comprehensive school counseling program. These evaluations not only help the school counselor see how the students are different as a result of the school counseling program, but can also be presented to administrators and other stakeholders to show how the school counselor is making a difference. Evaluations can take the form of: evaluations done by students, parents, or teachers, as well as using perception, outcome, or process data from completed programs or groups. If you look to the left, you will see two examples of evaluations. One is intended for teachers and administrators within the school and the second is an example of a self-evaluation form that the school counselor can rate themselves on. |
